M.S. Molitor Trucking was started in 1958 by Morris and Mary Molitor. Morris had previously owned dump trucks and worked in road construction. The company started in Boulder, MT and was a one truck operation, hauling livestock. After a year, Morris purchased another truck and started hauling beer to Butte, MT. Although he still drove the cattle hauling truck himself, he hired his first driver. A few years later, he sold the cow truck and concentrated on hauling beer to Montana customers. After 40 years in business, our goal is still pretty much the same: Serving Montana Customers. We still haul mainly beer and wine, but have expanded in all 48 states. We have also changed our base to include produce hauls from ID and WA to the Midwest and East Coast.
M. S. Molitor Trucking's current base is located in Boulder, MT. Morris and Mary have retired, but still like to oversee the trucking company. Day-to-day operations are run by their two sons, Mike and Don. Don works in personnel and sales, Mike works in accounting and purchasing. Mike's wife, Molly, is also involved by working in accounts receivable & resources. Ron Smartnick and John Waddell handle the dispatch department, and Mary Ritchie handles payroll. Dori Woods and Ellen Rae Thiel work on billing and weekly mileage reports. This fills out M. S. Molitor's able and dedicated staff.
In 2000, M.S. Molitor added to their business with a flatbed division. This division is located in Belgrade, MT and is managed and dispatched by Randy Paul. At present time he utilizes 10 units that are flatbed or step-deck equipped. They are available nationwide.
Our company is using the newest technology in its day-to-day operations. Most of the trucks and loads are dispatched and monitored using Qualcomm Omnitracs tracking system. We can provide you with the precise location of your load when you desire it, just by your calling our office and requesting the information. Our accounting and dispatch system is based on software developed by Keystone Systems of Spokane, WA. We also use PC Miler software to locate routes and mileage for all of our billing, as well as our dispatching.
